Custom Pomade Boxes

Our custom pomade boxes are made to fit 1 oz to 4 oz jars, tins, and tubs. Pick a tuck end, sleeve and tray, rigid, window, or bellyband style, then add your logo in full color or Pantone-matched ink. Oil-based pomade can stain cheap cardboard, so we use an oil-resistant interior coating that keeps your boxes clean in summer heat and on long shipping routes. For the finish, choose foil stamping, embossing, spot UV, or soft-touch lamination. We offer short runs for barbershops and startups, plu

Custom Pomade Boxes with Logo — Wholesale and Short-Run Packaging

Your packaging is the first thing a customer touches — make it count.

Custom pomade boxes are secondary packaging solutions designed to house pomade jars, tins, and tubs while protecting the product, presenting your brand, and driving shelf conversions.

Whether you're launching an indie grooming line or scaling a barbershop brand, the right box does the selling before a single lid gets opened.

What Goes Inside Your Box Matters More Than You Think

Not all grooming products need the same packaging consideration — and pomade is a unique case. The formulation inside your jar directly affects what your box needs to do.

Oil-based pomades, which contain petroleum jelly and wax blends, create real grease migration risk. Without an oil-resistant interior coating or grease-resistant varnish, the product can leach through the walls of the box over time — especially during summer transit when wax softens. Water-based and hybrid pomades carry less migration risk, but they still demand moisture-resistant construction and scuff protection for retail and e-commerce environments.

This is where pomade packaging boxes have to be built differently from generic cosmetic cartons. The interior coating choice, the caliper of your paperboard, and even your lamination type all respond to what's sitting inside the jar.

At Sire Printing, we factor in your formulation type before recommending a material — because a box that fails the product fails the brand.

Custom Pomade Box Styles — Built for Every Brand Format

The structure of your box shapes the unboxing experience, your shipping cost, and how your product sits on a retail shelf or inside a subscription kit. Here's what we offer and where each style wins:

Tuck End / Reverse Tuck — The workhorse of retail grooming packaging. Clean, efficient, and cost-effective for short runs and bulk orders alike. Works well for 1 oz to 3 oz pomade jars.

Sleeve and Tray — A premium two-piece structure that slides open with intention. Barbershop house brands and salon distributors favor this for its premium feel without jumping to full rigid construction.

Rigid and Magnetic Boxes — For luxury grooming lines, gift sets, and multi-product kits where the box is as much a product as what's inside. Higher material cost, significantly higher perceived value.

Window Box — Great for Shopify and Amazon sellers who want the product visible at the point of decision. Works well with clear screw-cap containers and tubs.

Bellyband — A wrap that holds multiple items together or adds a branding layer over a minimal box. Popular with subscription grooming kits and sample sets.

Pomade Jar Packaging — Getting the Size Right

A box that's slightly too large will rattle. One that's too tight risks crushing during shipping. Here's a general sizing reference for the most common pomade jar formats:

3" × 3" × 2.1"

+1/8" on all sides

Send us your jar dimensions and we'll build a custom dieline at no charge.

Die-cut paperboard inserts and jar-hugging inserts are available for kits and gift sets, they keep containers secure and make the unboxing feel considered rather than careless.

Custom Printed Pomade Boxes — Finishes That Do the Work

The print and finish on your box communicates brand identity before anyone reads a single word. For men's grooming packaging, the visual language tends to split into two clear aesthetics: heritage barbershop (deep colors, serif type, foil detail) and modern minimalist (clean white or kraft, matte lamination, debossed logo).

We print via offset for high-volume runs and digital for short-run and sample orders, with both CMYK and PMS/Pantone color matching available. Pomade boxes with logo come to life through:

  • Foil stamping — gold, silver, or custom foil for premium shelf presence
  • Embossing / Debossing — tactile logo detail that reads as quality
  • Spot UV — gloss accent over matte base for contrast-driven design
  • Soft-touch lamination — a velvety matte finish that photographs extremely well

Matte lamination over a dark base coat is currently one of the strongest shelf-differentiation moves in the men's grooming space — it signals quality without shouting.

What Your Pomade Box Must Say — Label Checklist

FDA cosmetic labeling rules apply to secondary packaging. While this isn't legal advice and you should verify all requirements directly with current FDA guidance before going to print, here's what typically needs to appear on a compliant pomade box:

Product name and brand
Net contents statement (e.g., 4 oz / 113 g)
Full ingredient list (INCI names, in descending order)
Directions for use and any warnings
Manufacturer or distributor name and address (MoCRA contact requirements)
Country of origin (if applicable)
Barcode / UPC

The principal display panel, the main face of your box — needs to carry the product name and net contents at minimum. Everything else goes on the side or back panels.

Hair Pomade Packaging for Every Business Type

Different buyers come to pomade packaging with different priorities. Here's how we approach each:

Barbershop House Brands — Usually starting with short runs of 100–300 units. Reverse tuck or sleeve-and-tray in 18pt SBS with a two-color PMS print is a common, cost-efficient starting point.

Indie Grooming Startups (Shopify / Amazon) — Need packaging that photographs well and ships clean. Matte soft-touch tuck end boxes with interior coating, shipped flat for easy fulfillment.

Salon Distributors — Volume buyers who need consistency across reorders. Offset printing on 18pt–24pt board with stable PMS colors for brand accuracy across batches.

Private-Label Manufacturers — Clean, neutral packaging or fully branded, depending on their end client. We handle both with quick turnaround on digital proofs.

Subscription Kit Brands — Multi-product inserts, belly bands, and gift-ready rigid boxes that make the monthly arrival feel like an event.

Wholesale Pomade Boxes — Pricing and What Moves the Number

What affects your price:

  • Box dimensions and material caliper
  • Number of print colors and finish type
  • Order quantity (the biggest single variable)
  • Inserts, special coatings, or custom structural work

We offer both short-run and bulk pricing with no hidden setup fees. Our Beat My Quote program means if you have a competing quote, bring it — we'll match or beat it on comparable specs. Free USA shipping applies to all orders, with no minimum threshold to qualify.

Typical turnaround:

  • Digital proof: 1–2 business days
  • Physical sample (optional): 5–7 business days
  • Production: 8–12 business days
  • Shipping: included, via ground to all 48 contiguous states
